Combining aspects of relational and inductive study produced the concept of a Devotional New Testament. Holy Scripture means exactly what the first person who heard it understood it to mean, not what culture, tradition, or translators interpret the words to mean. Because most translations and versions of scripture are academic, they have less devotional value for the average reader. Getting a sense of the original intent provides an improved understanding of the inspired text. A simple word study comparison between common Greek, Latin syntax and the language used in the King James Version can clarify the actual meaning of words. By observing definitions in an unabridged English dictionary, one can better understand the choice of words used in 1611 by the King James translators.
